For its fifteenth edition, Amsterdam once again becomes a setting for light art. Twenty light artworks along a brand-new route — and we run the cruises that take you through the middle of it.

The festival
An art festival on the water, for the fifteenth time.
For this fifteenth edition, local, national and international artists were invited to share what they would like to present to the residents and visitors of Amsterdam. There is no fixed theme; instead, a dialogue with the city unfolds through a multitude of perspectives. Alongside twenty light artworks and a brand-new route, there is free side programming throughout the season.

What an evening on the water looks like
Edition 15 route
The route changes every year. The best seat never does.
This edition the route runs counterclockwise through the central and eastern districts: five kilometres by boat, 4,5 kilometres on foot. Kinboat's skippers know exactly where to slow down.

Does Edition 15 have a theme?
No. Edition 15 has no fixed theme; it is the fifteenth edition and marks fifteen years of light art in Amsterdam. Each artist brings their own perspective on the city.
How long does a cruise take?
Sixty to seventy-five minutes, along a route of about five kilometres.
What does an Amsterdam Light Festival cruise cost?
An open boat is € 29,75 (children 4–12 years € 14,90). A closed, heated boat including drinks is € 39,75. Private boats on request.
